Inspired by the ancient work of the herbalists, the company, DRUIDE was born in 1979 in Quebec .The use of plant and mineral-based ingredients was found to have extraordinary effects on the skin, hair and quality of life of many people. Thus this very first complete line of ecological, organic body care was born, creating a chemical free alternative to the body care market.

DRUIDE commits itself to promote and follow the following principles

Ingredients

• No products obtained by pure chemical synthesis (colouring agent, preservative agent, perfume, etc).
  The following are some examples of unacceptable ingredients: Sodium laureth sulphate, sodium lauryl sulphate, parabens.
• Priority given to the use of organically grown or wild crafted ingredients that do not disturb ecosystems or degrade the environment.
• Biodegradability of all ingredients according to international norms is essential.
• The use of a natural preservation process, which gives stability and preserves the product for a period of three years.
• The use of elements produced naturally by animals and non-constituents of animals (examples: milk, wax, etc).
• The use of elements certified non-GMO (genetically modified organisms).
• Ingredients coming from fair-trade projects are preferred.

Production methods

• The production processes and treatment of ingredients must be simple,non-pollutant, non toxic and generate the most biodegradable products possible (OECD rule 301 D&E).
• All products are manufactured in one factory producing no dangerous or toxic waste and promote recycling and reusing.
• No animal testing (raw materiel or finished goods).

Packaging and transportation

• No excessive packaging. The use of recyclable plastic material without labels.
• No use of PVC.
• Organic ingredients and finished goods will not come into contact with non-organic or non-ecological elements while being transported.

Conclusion

We therefore state our commitment at DRUIDE, from the first stages of production to the finished product, to respect a rigorous ecological ethic and give priority to research of product improvement.

Certification Ecocert
This certification is based on strict controls of the ingredients used as well as of the production process.

It ensures that a minimum of 95% of the ingredients are of natural origin and that the products contain absolutely no synthetic fragrances, no synthetic dyes, no silicones nor glycols.

Certification also requires the respect of strict ecological standards throughout the process of production: traceability of ingredients, processes, transport, storage and even energy and waste are checked.

This certification is accredited by more than 80 government agencies in the world.

In 2004, DRUIDE was the first North American company to receive the ecological and organic certification from ECOCERT.
